Description:
Join Broadway artists, university faculty and enthusiastic musical theater students from all over the country in a 6-day intensive training academy. Students ages 12-18 live on George Washington University campus while participating in a program, co-directed by the Kennedy Center.
The Musical Theater program offers daily workshops in the three essential components of musical theater - acting, singing and dancing. Curriculum will include improvisation, scene study, vocal instruction, audition techniques and dance workshops for all levels - from beginner to advanced.
The Voice, Acting and Dance for the Musical Theater Stage programs offer a more in-depth week of training in these areas and can be taken in conjunction with a Musical Theater.
Evening events for students include a backstage tour of the Kennedy Center. These exciting, week-long programs culminate in a final performance on the last day - family and friends are invited!
